Certification

Andy Shaw Photography hold a CAA Operational Authorisationlist of approved operators.

Allowing operations to be conducted in populated areas, such at towns and cities.

An Operational Authorisation allowed a drone to be flown legally within 150m of a congested area. A congested area is defined under law as ‘a city, town or settlement, any area which is substantially used for residential, commercial, industrial or recreational purposes’. This includes a small villages and anywhere people congregate.

As a CAA PfCO holder, Andy Shaw Photography can fly within a congested area, We are also permitted to fly at night and always are fully insured, with cover for public liability up to £5m.

Flight

There are various limitations which are legally imposed by the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) on all our operations.

All these limitations exist to improve the safety of the operations:

• Maximum distance of 500m from operator

• Maximum height of 400ft (120m) above the ground

• A minimum distance of 30-50m must be kept between the drone and all non-notified parties

But as a CAA Operational Authorisation holder Andy Shaw Photography can fly over congested areas, these include towns and cities.

Andy Shaw Photography has the expertise and knowledge to undertake the planning to seek permission to fly at almost any location within the UK.

Legal and Safe

You can have peace of mind when instructing Andy Shaw Photography to undertake your project that operating legal and safe are key to the operation.

• Each project is planned well in advance to ensure the seemless operation.

• All aspects of each project are fully risk assessed.

• Andy Shaw Photography will ensure that all airspace permissions are obtained prior to the project being undertaken.

• Copies of the CAA Operational Authorisation and Insurance Certificate will be provided.

Weather

Andy Shaw Photography operates with pride to ensure a high quality product is obtained safely. Drones can be affected by the weather and with all photography there are certain conditions that are not condusive to achieving the best images.

As a result, the wind must not exceed 20mph in the area of operation and there can't be any be rain, fog or ice.

If an operation is planned but the weather is unsuitable, the operation will be rearranged free of charge.

Andy Shaw Photography is based in Warrington, Cheshire but has permission to operate throughout the United Kingdom and regually does.
